Recently I have become more aware of how we are living in unprecedented times; where we are experiencing increasing ageing populations. Ostensibly today’s baby boomers and post baby boom generations are predicted to live longer than previous generations.

 

Fantastic! You must think that’s wonderful news; we are all going to live longer and become great-grandparents!

It is wonderful, however, that increased life span also poses enormous challenges as to how we are going to manage our long-term wellbeing in a way where we can sustainably THRIVE and match those extended years in quality ways.

 

At the moment, many people’s healthy life expectancy does not always match with their longevity potential; in reality we are SHORTENING our life spans. That is mainly because of the pressures and lifestyle habits of 21st Century everyday living and not taking enough of a preventative approach to health. The effect is such that people all over the world are functioning below their potential.

The result of sub-optimal functioning can be an increase in lifestyle-related health conditions. These range from everyday tiredness, fatigue and brain fog to more serious health conditions like obesity, diabetes, stress, anxiety, depression, digestive problems, heart health issues, autoimmune problems and other critical degenerative diseases.  All of these and more can have a profoundly limiting effect on work, relationships, energy for life and indeed your health and longevity!
